Acne Office Treatments

Acne Office Treatments

If you can afford to add in-office treatments within your clearing process, I highly suggest it.  Below I have my very own treatment plan for my local acne clients, you will also see recommendations for those who are not local.

Local to St.Louis, MO

Over the years, I have learned that you will get through the purging phase faster if you start out your treatment plan with a medium depth chemical peel.  For this I highly suggest my Lumify Peel.

This peel is considered a medium depth peel and on average will have you peeling for 6 days.   This peel requires you to come into the office so that I can apply the peel solution to your skin.  You will then wear this solution home for 2-4 hours.  Starting the following night, you will apply a peeling cream to your face for 6 nights in a row.  Amplifying the results to receive deep exfoliation to speed through the purging phase.  Fun Fact, this is also a good peel to do once you have cleared to work on acne scarring.

Cost: $375 includes a full-size peeling cream and travel-size skincare regimen to compliment the peeling process.  I like this kit because I will incorporate the peeling cream in with your acne products.

Once you have finished the Lumify Peel, next is bi-weekly clarifying hydrafacial treatments.  Most clients need 6 of these over 3 month period.

This facial is designed to help exfoliate up and out “old acne” which will clear the skin and work on scarring simultaneously.  This treatment also includes an acne peel and Celluma light therapy.  No downtime.
Cost: $185-$225 depending on Dermaplane add on.

After clients have cleared with their acne regimen at home and the office treatments, the next best thing to do is start Microneedling to break up the scar tissue.

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive treatment for atrophic scarring, pores, texture, fine lines, and sun damage.  The earlier an acne prone person can start this, the better.  This will prevent deep atrophic scarring from setting in and will start the collagen production.    A series of 4 is recommended one month apart.
Cost: 350 per treatment or 10% off of a package of 4.

Not Local

Mimicking the acne plan above with a reputable spa near you can always be an idea.  Finding a spa or Esthetician who treats acne and has acne treatments available is also a great.  If you are virtual acne client, I do ask that you do not add or defer from your acne regimen with me.  This will only create variables that may conflict with your progress.

There are ways to mimic in-office treatments to speed up the purging phase.  I like to suggest these to acne clients:

I would also suggest investing in an LED device to help heal acne faster to pair with your acne regimen:
I like the LUX devices on this link because it offers both red and blue LED to help with acne, scarring, fine lines and wrinkles.  Choose a device based on your budget.  https://ledtechnologies.com/collections/lux-collection/
(I am not an affiliate of this company, however, I like their products).

A few treatments to consider once clear

  • Chemical peel such as the perfect peel, VI peel, or TCA peels with a licensed professional.
  • A series of Microneedling for atrophic scarring.
  • Vbeam Perfecta Laser Treatment for the pink/red areas of discoloration from post-acne marks.
  • IPL/BBL laser treatment for any brown discoloration from post-acne marks.
